Privacy Policy

BBB Markets is a desktop app that values digital businesses from their own data. It is provided by BBBuildWebsites LLC, doing business as BBB Markets, New Jersey, United States ("BBB Markets", "we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never collect.
The short version: your business data stays on your computer. Our server keeps only your email, your subscription status, which computers are activated and your monthly Analyst count. We don't sell data, and we don't use advertising or tracking.
1. Data that stays on your computer
Everything you add to BBB Markets is stored on your own computer, and we never receive it. That includes:
- revenue, customer, subscription and expense figures;
- files you import;
- notes and numbers you enter by hand;
- the valuations, forecasts and reports the app calculates;
- your Stripe API key, if you connect Stripe. It is encrypted using your operating system's secure storage.
When you connect Stripe, the app talks to Stripe directly from your computer using the read-only key you provide. That data does not pass through our server. Stripe handles it under Stripe's privacy policy.
Deleting a business in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes this data. It's your data to back up; we have no copy to restore.
2. Data our server keeps

The computer ID is generated by BBB Markets. It is not a hardware serial number, and it doesn't identify you or your device outside BBB Markets.
3. The Analyst
When you ask the Analyst a question, the app sends our server your question and a short brief of figures the app has already calculated, such as your valuation, growth rates and what changed. The brief never includes customer names, raw files, passwords or keys.
Our server passes the question and brief to Anthropic, which provides the AI model, and returns the answer to you. We do not store or log your questions, the brief or the answers. Anthropic processes them to produce the answer under its commercial terms and privacy policy. Anthropic may keep them for a limited time as those terms allow, and under them does not use them to train its models.
If you never use the Analyst, nothing about your business leaves your computer.
4. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe gives us your email address, billing country and payment status, and keeps the full billing records, such as invoices and tax information, under Stripe's privacy policy. We use your billing country to confirm the service is available where you are.
5. Email
We send only emails you need: your license key, download link and replacement keys. Receipts, renewal and failed-payment notices come from Stripe. We don't send marketing email.
6. Our website
getbbbmarkets.com uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Like any website, it is served through a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load.
7. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers that run BBB Markets, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe: payments and billing
- Cloudflare: hosting for our website and server
- Resend: delivering license emails
- Anthropic: the Analyst (questions and figure briefs only, as described above)
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your server record while you have a subscription. After it ends, we delete your activation records within 90 days. Your email and subscription record are deleted on request, or 24 months after the subscription ends, unless we must keep them to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Monthly Analyst counts are deleted after 13 months.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information our server holds about you by emailing support@getbbbmarkets.com. Depending on where you live, including New Jersey, you may have further rights under state privacy law. We will respond within the time the law requires and won't treat you differently for asking. You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing link in your license email.
10. Security
License keys and activation tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. Connections to our server are encrypted. Your Stripe key is encrypted on your computer. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
11. Availability and age
BBB Markets is currently offered only to businesses and individuals in the United States. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how we handle information we already hold, we'll email subscribers before it takes effect.
